| Reaching
puberty can be a bit scary for anyone. Lots of strange things
start happening to your body…
For most people, puberty occurs between 8 and 16, however
some people begin puberty earlier and their bodies continue
to change way past 17.
Body changes are normal and many people feel worried that
their body is not like everyone else’s; too thin,
too fat, too much hair, not enough hair; penis too small;
shaving, not shaving; breasts too small, breasts too big...the
list goes on. If you are worried then talk to an adult you
trust so that they can reassure you or support you in getting
help
Remember every adult you know has been
through this too!
As you get older your relationships may become more intimate
with boyfriends/girlfriends. It is your choice whether to
have sex or not. Although the legal age is 16, there are
many things to consider before entering into a sexual relationship,
and many good reasons to wait a while.
It will only be your first time once – is your partner
special enough? It is a big decision to have our first sexual
relationship and you should make sure that you have all
the information you need.
There are different methods of contraception, and you will
need expert advice on which is most suitable for you, and
your partner.
AIDS is one Sexually Transmitted Infection we have all heard
