24/05/2006
Three Towns Healthy Living are offering a fantastic service to Three Towns people who are looking to get assistance and training on how to use a computer. A completely free IT Buddy service is offered every Tuesday and Friday at the Three Towns Healthy Living Shop, 12 Hamilton Street Saltcoats.
The IT Buddy service offers computing help on a one to one basis to both people who are completely new to computers and those who simply need to brush up on their skills. The IT Buddies can teach a range of skills whether it be saving a file, learning how to use the Internet or even how to word-process a letter or document.
Ian an IT Buddy said: “If you can switch on a PC and would like to know a little more about computers, then we can help you. The IT Buddy service is informal, local, free and one to one. Each session lasts about one hour, depending on how you feel, and we’ve had all ages from teenager through to the retired.”
Many Three Towns residents have already taken advantage of the brilliant service on offer and all are pleased with the results. Delia Pettigrew, 57, Ardrossan said: “ The IT Buddy course gave me loads more confidence with a computer. I have lost my computing inhibitions and am so pleased that I finally know how to turn my computer on and off!” Barbara from Ardrossan also added: “After an hour or so I created and printed out my first computer produced letter.”
