Moving
On is a counselling service for victims of rape and childhood
sexual abuse. We work to support them through our counselling
service so that they one day they emerge as survivors.
Counsellors work on a one-to-one basis with their clients,
providing confidentiality in a secure and safe environment.
Each session is pre-arranged. Each client is offered 12
sessions initially, each session lasting 50-60 minutes.
If after the final review it is agreed that further sessions
are needed, the client can continue immediately, or after
a break of just a few weeks.
Because of the demands on the service there is a waiting
list. However, through constant monitoring we try to ensure
that prospective clients are not waiting any longer than
eight weeks before being offered their first appointment.
Part of our process is to invite each client for an initial
interview/assessment to talk about the service and to ensure
that we are in a position to offer the support that each
client seeks.
Counselling is offered in a variety of premises during the
day and evening.
