Babysitting circles

I am new to the area and wondered if anyone has a baby sitting circle running. Where I previously lived we where a group of six to eight Mums , who met through the maternity hospital and by word of mouth. We decided to help each other out by organising 'sitting' for each other.
We used tokens to pay for a session. We all started out with five 'tokens' (they could be buttons) We agreed what the value of the token was i.e. one token for one child for three hours babysitting. This meant that if your tokens where getting low then you had to do some babysitting to replenish your token level. Does any one know of a sitting circle or are they interested in starting one.
I might add that it would work for the elderly also. If you want an elderly person kept company for a few hours in the evening while your out at the bowling
