Boots Across Scotland - Winter Mountain Safety Lecture:

“Knockin on Heavens Door” Speaker: Mick Tighe, U.I.A.G.M.
Training Officer – Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland

Harbour Art Centre, Irvine www.harbourarts.org.uk
Thursday 13th November 2003 at 7:30 PM Admission: Free

Mick Tighe - mountain guide and Lochaber rescue team member - addresses subjects such as navigation, winter climbing equipment, avalanche prediction, and coping with short cold days in the hills. Mick spends over 240 days each year on the hill, so most of his commentary is backed up with genuine experiences and situations. The 'format' of the evenings is a 'winter skills' talk accompanied by some stunning slides and Mick's ever-interesting choice of music, followed by a question and answer session.
